Yes, it's the 3rd Tuesday and that means MadFox!
The meeting is at Salty Dog Solutions' HQ in beautiful downtown Madison. The students are back and this place is buzzing.
Tonight's meeting will begin with our usual Q&A and member demonstrations. If we have time, I'll demonstrate "The AJAXifcation of a FoxPro web service" using some WestWind tools. If you're looking to expose your VFP data on the web in an eye-popping manner, do not miss this presentation.
We actually don't have door prizes tonight, but there is a new CoDe mag! Plus afterwards we'll head over to some venue for libations and bird watching.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a presentation to write....

The Detroit Area Fox User Group (DAFUG) announces Toni Feltman is presenting "Square Peg, Round Hole - Retrofitting Client Server Data Access into Legacy FoxPro Applications" on Thursday August 14, 2008. In this presentation Toni will discusses how the increasing size of tables and changing application requirements have many seasoned FoxPro developers are being forced to move their data out of FoxPro and into a real database server. This would be an easy task if we all had the time to completely rewrite our applications from the ground up. Unfortunately most business cannot just be put on hold while 15+ years of development is evaluated, refactored and rewritten for client-server. This session will look at ways to easily migrate existing applications into client server architecture without much disruption to the business. Check out the Web site for directions, maps, email contacts, future meeting dates and topics, and other details.

This update adds support for 64 bit versions of Windows so you can now run on Vista 64 or Windows Server 2008.
